In addition to a general refresh based on the latest market data, We added an extensive set of new Generative AI-related skills (opens in a new tab) to our Skills Taxonomy, including ChatGPT (opens in a new tab), AI Agents, Stable Diffusion, GitHub Copilot (opens in a new tab), OpenAI API and AI Ethics. We now have 8834 unique skills in our Skills Taxonomy.

Key Insights:

  • Generative AI skills are emerging across various industries:
    • The ICT industry in the US now leads with eight new AI-related skills, including Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs) (opens in a new tab), ChatGPT, AI Chatbots, Langchain, and prompt engineering.
    • The Professional, Scientific, and Technical has added four new skills: Generative AI, LLMs, Artificial Neural Networks, and Speaker recognition.
    • The education sector has incorporated two emerging skills: Generative AI and LLMs.
  • The skill of Generative AI is emerging across all geographies, including Australia, the US, the UK, and Canada. It is particularly trending in the US, where it ranks in the top 5% for skill growth over the last six months.
  • Occupations such as Computer and Information Systems Managers (opens in a new tab), Computer Systems Engineers/Architects, Data Science Managers, Software Application Developers, and Web Developers are seeing both Generative AI and LLMs emerging.
  • Positions such as Database Architects, Enterprise Architecture Consulting Managers, Product Owners, and Programme Managers are seeing only Generative AI emerging.
